Embarking on a BFF journey five years in the making
Challenge: Adapt an evolving feature film idea into an animated series pitch bible.
Strategy: Leaning into the original live action concept, we established a bold, graphic novel look.
The semi-realistic style accommodated enough detail to portray a spectrum of complex characters while honoring the two creators' vision of a vivid, technicolor adventure.
Result: A compilation of rich concept art that brought two passionate storytellers' dream to life.

After 5 years' worth of development the creators had a clear idea
of what the two heroes and the rest of Dimpled and Bowing's world
looked and felt like. The task was to merge an array of references,
storytelling, and my own artistic flavor to form a cohesive whole.
Come for the weather. Stay for the revolution.
Beyond our cast of characters, the mysterious desert town
of Badmouth had an intricate visual personality of its own.

Life imitating art imitating life.
The story's two protagonists, Dimpled and Bowing, have a strong connection. One clearly inspired by the two co-creators, Brian and Ryan, who have been friends for years. It was satisfying to hop on this ride and bring these two buddies' passion project to life.
